2011-2012 Season at a Glance:

The competition goal of UMBC wrestling is to produce national champions and All-Americans. The team's larger aim is to produce quality individuals: Physically fit, academically excellent leaders who will use the skills of determination and persistence they learned from college wrestling to gain success in life.

This year's squad returns All-Americans Daniel Carr (149) and Kekura Musa (133) as well as conference champions Brian Samuels (141) and Alec Pence (197). The team also returns conference finalist Mike Munno (174) and NCWA national qualifiers Randy Huber (157), Billy Kuczarski (165), Eldar Muradov (184) and Karim Mansour (285). In addition, the team has brought in several talented freshmen and transfer students. Newcomers Junior Monzey (165) and Chris Urps (184) were state finalists in high school and Martin Mitchell (157) was a state placewinner. Freshmen John Fisher (125), Tom Carman (141) and Stephen Oyomeni (141) were state qualifiers.

Those wrestlers who win an NCWA National Title are given a Super Bowl-style championship ring engraved with their names.
