The goal of UMBC Wrestling is to produce national champions and All-Americans.
This year's squad returns former conference champions John Onyenemezu (197) and John Lapoint (235) as well as conference finalist and team captain Joe Eassa (184), former Apprentice tournament champion Will Maegerle (174) and starters Bryce Harley (125), Leif Huber (157) and Karim Mansour (285). In addition, the team has brought in several talented freshmen and transfer students. Transfers Daniel Carr (149) and Justin Bowersox (235) were both state finalists in high school. Freshmen Brian Samuels (133), Kekura Musa (133) and transfers Nathan Murphy (141) and Zach Coe (165) were all state placewinners. The team also expects big performances from freshmen Angelo Ambridge (125) and Kris Dutt (141).
