4/7/08 - Match vs. Salisbury

This weekend was the first annual Family Day. Coach Pruett presented a "Rugby 101" seminar to friends and family members of our players, and the match vs. Salisbury was played in three 30-minute periods. The first two (which were officially considered the game) yielded a 15-10 loss, while the final period was a "B-side" win on our behalf.

This upcoming weekend the women will be playing in a tournament at Franklin & Marshall College, followed by our Spring Fling match vs. Towson on April 19th.

3/13/08 - Family Day / Alumni Weekend

On April 5th, UMBC Women's Rugby will host a family day. At 11:30am Coach Pruett will be holding a "Rugby 101" seminar for any interested family members to learn about the game of rugby. Following the seminar will be the match versus Salisbury at 1pm.

Also, April 26th has been scheduled as alumni day in conjunction with the men. If the turn out is big enough, we hope to hold an alumni match. Hope to see you there!

3/2/08 - Match vs. Mary Washington

For their second match of the season, UMBC Women's Rugby traveled to Fredricksburg to play the defending Division I VRU champs. With the odds stacked against them, UMBC played exceptionally well. Unfortunately, the windy conditions and tough competition yielded a losing score of 22-10. Come out next week to see the ladies take on GWU!

2/26/08 - Match vs. Navy

UMBC opened the spring season with a 30-5 loss to the Naval Academy B-side this past Sunday in Annapolis. Despite pre-game nerves and apprehensions, UMBC held their own and put up a tough fight for the Navy girls. Susanna Kitchen contributed the try.

2/14/08 - Game cancelation

Due to some complications and the inclimate weather, the match scheduled for Saturday, February 16th has been canceled.

2/2/08 - PRU meeting
