A Current UMBC Student

No – you can register for summer classes beginning    March 24.


An Incoming UMBC Student

(Fall 2009)

No – Change your semester start date through the Admissions Office and register beginning March 24.

A Visiting Student from Another College or University

Yes – Verify the course(s) you want is transferable to your home institution and apply online. Register after you are admitted.


Pre-College Student
Yes – Contact the Admissions Office to talk with a counselor who will determine your eligibility to enroll.

 

 

 

Current UMBC Students


No
- you can register online starting March 24.

 


Incoming UMBC Students (Fall 2009)


No additional application is needed
- an email or letter of intent is required by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for new students interested in taking summer courses. Please be sure to include your full name and date of birth so we can match the request with your record. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions can be reached at admissions@umbc.edu, via fax at 410-455-1094, or mail to UMBC, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD, 21250.

 

Once you receive notification of summer registration access, you will be able to register online. Academic advising is highly recommended. Contact the Office for Academic and Pre-Professional Advising at 410-455-2729.

 


Visiting Students


Yes
but if you are in good standing at your home institution, transcripts are not required. Apply for summer admission and once you’re admitted, you can register online. But before you do, be sure to check with your home institution to verify that credits earned at UMBC are transferable.

 

 


Pre-College Students


Yes
- Pre-college students must meet regular UMBC admissions requirements.  A letter of recommendation and permission from your high school are also required, and academic advising is highly recommended.  To learn more about concurrent enrollment during summer session, contact a UMBC admissions counselor at admissions@umbc.edu or call 410-455-2292 before you apply.
