SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT PERIOD
The Schedule Adjustment Period is the 4 day time frame at the beginning of each session, when you can use your
myUMBC account to SWAP, ADD, or DROP a course.
Summer Session I Schedule Adjustment Period (May 28 - May 31)
Note: May 31 is the last day to drop without a "W" on your transcript.
Summer Session II Schedule Adjustment Period (July 8 - July 11)
Note: July 11 is the last day to drop without a "W" on your transcript.
Swap a Course(s)
During the schedule adjustment period you may drop a course and replace it with another course (SWAP) for the same number of credits, with no financial penalty. The SWAP option allows you to simultaneously add and drop a class (with the same number of credits). The class you wish to remove will not be dropped until you are successfully enrolled in the added course.
Add a Course(s)
During the schedule adjustment period, check with the instructor before adding a course to ensure missed course work can be completed. Courses added during the Schedule Adjustment Period will be assessed a non-refundable $20 late registration fee.
Drop a Course(s)
Courses dropped during the Schedule Adjustment Period will receive a pro-rated refund based on the date the course is dropped.. If a course is dropped after the Schedule Adjustment Period, the transcript will reflect a "W" for the course.
After the Schedule Adjustment Period Ends
Once the Schedule Adjustment Period ends, you can no longer use myUMBC to make schedule adjustments, EXCEPT to drop a course (up to and including the following deadline dates):
Session I
4 Week Course June 13 8 Week Course: July 3
6 Week Course June 21 12 Week Course: July 24
.
Session II

Course dropped after the Schedule Adjustment Period will reflect a "W" for the course on your transcript.
NOTE: If you would like to change you grade method for a course from “regular” to “pass/fail" before the above listed deadline dates, you need to submit an (RT) Help Ticket to the Registrar’s Office.
Withdrawing from Summer Session 2013
After the last day to drop a course from a session, the only way to drop a course is to withdraw from the session (i.e., drop all courses in the session). Submit an (RT) Help Ticket to the Registrar’s Office requesting a “semester withdraw" before the withdrawal deadline. A notation of “Session Withdrawal” will appear on your transcript.
