SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION

Do you want to keep on top of your studies and make sure you understand course content?

Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides regularly scheduled study sessions outside of class. A trained student peer helps students compare notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools and practice for tests. The Learning Resources Center will coordinate SI for selected courses in the summer sessions.

Supplemental Instruction is available for the following courses:

STUDY GROUPS

Take a page out of the medical school student playbook. Join a study group.

Study groups can help students stay on top of coursework during the fast-paced summer sessions. UMBC offers workshops and strategies to help students form or join study groups outside of regular class time.

Study Group Toolkit Workshops

Wondering how to create a study group?

This workshop teaches students how to form or join study groups. It also provides information on the academic support resources available in summer session. Attend a 45 minute workshop and learn how study groups can help you improve your grades and increase your understanding through cooperative learning. Two workshops are currently scheduled during each summer session.

The dates and times for summer 2015 will be updated in spring of 2015.
