Q: Discuss what can be said about Euler circuits in a connected graph for which all but one vertices have even valence. (Due Mon, Sep 12)

Also, the following question: Why is it impossible to have a connected graph with only a single vertex which has odd valence? (Due Wed, Sep 14)

Total points for first week's HW were 14.

Wed 9/14: Finished Chapter 2 (only covered up to Sec 2.3)

Started doing material on Infinity and Cardinality (not from the book, so come to class!)

Exercises from Chapter 2: 2,4,10 (show the path if there is one!),14,16,20,24 (just do part(a), i.e. assume no note can be repeated - other 2 parts are extra credit),30 (show work/give justification),36(a)(show work/give justification) (Due Wed, 9/21)

Mon 9/26:

Notes on what we have been doing on Infinity handed out in class today. These contain the next HW, which will be due on Wed, Oct 5. (No HW due on Wed, Sep 28).

Material covered on 9/26: Starting Chapter 5 in text (upto 5.4) and moving on to Chapter 7.

Wed 10/5 Finished Chapter 7. HW: (Due Wed, Oct 12)

Will do more on Golden Ratio. IF you didn't attend the class last Wed, you need to do some additional HW. From now on, some HW may be done in class during each lecture, so it is even more essential you attend!
