Water pollution is one of the main types of pollution that we, as people should be quite concerned about. It is a form of pollution that is running many lakes, streams, rivers, ponds and above all, the Bay. Water supplies get affected, and so are animals, plants, and again the people that rely on the water for drinking and/or living.
     Polluting the water is unfortunately, a very simple process. Basically, an item goes down the drain or sewer and then over a period of time, eventually makes its way into one of the bodies of water (motioned above). Certain man-made items also cause water pollution. Some of these items, include, soaps, detergents, cleaning sprays, some mouthwashes, and many other things. This type of pollution is also caused when people throw their trash into the water. Animals can get trapped by this trash, and suffocate to death. The trash can cut or disable the animals too, not to mention plants. In a way, I guess you could say that throwing trash into any source of water is like committing “plant and/or animal murder.”
     Water pollution doesn't just affect animals and plants; it affects our lives too, even though you may not know it. Water is something we drink; therefore, this is one of the ways it affects us. When water is polluted, it decreases the amount of drinkable water and increases the amount of water shortages we have. When there is less of something (in this case water), we tend to use those things up a lot faster.
     Water pollution is very serious and it is a major “threat” to our future. It destroys environments and creates other problems for our planet. Sometimes, people don't seem to care about what happens to the water and/or the environment because they are usually just thinking about themselves, but in the end, one way or another everything on this Earth will suffer from this type of pollution including yourself!
