How DoesAffect the Chesapeake Bay...???

Introduction
On this page, hopefully, you will be able to gather a little bit of information and actually find out an answer to one of the most commonly asked questions today…”How does pollution affect the Chesapeake Bay?” Please enjoy!

Whatis the Chesapeake Bay...?
The Chesapeake Bay is the United States', largest estuary. This is a semi enclosed body of water, where fresh water and salt water mix together to form brackish water. Over 1,200 species of plants and animals live in or around the Chesapeake Bay. The Bay is found on the East Coast, by Maryland and Virginia. Salt water enters the Bay from the Atlantic Ocean, and freshwater comes from rivers, streams, and rainfall as the area known as the Bay Watershed (the states that "drain into" the Bay). The states in this particular watershed include: Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, and Washington D.C.

How Large  is  the Chesapeake Bay...?
The Chesapeake Bay is about one hundred eighty-five (185) miles in length. It holds about nineteen (19) trillion gallons of water. Most of the Bay is very shallow, with an average depth of only about twenty-one (21) feet. The deepest part of the Bay is one hundred seventy-four (174) feet, at a spot commonly known to some people as, “Bloody Point.” Forty-six rivers and streams flow into the Bay, bringing fresh water. What  Exactly is  Pollution…?
Pollution is said to be the contamination of the environment and/or its surroundings, as a result of human activities. The different types of pollution include air pollution, water pollution, and solid waste. The term pollution basically refers to the “deterioration” of land, water, and air by wastes.

Conclusion…
In the end, from all of these types of pollution and examples of pollution, you can see that whether there is pollution on the land, in the air, or wherever, it always affects something…especially, the BAY! Not any type of pollution is a good thing. And it is EVERYWHERE! Therefore, whether we are talking about rivers, or streams, the Bay or anything along those lines, it is “clear as daylight” to see that despite the fact that  pollution is a disgusting habit that seems to be growing and growing over the years, it is not a good thing. We should try our best to stop it. In fact, there are many things that people can do to help minimize and eventually get rid of the amount of pollution we have. Some things that we can do to help with this “pollution problem” is that we can stop littering and throwing our trash in careless places; we can start recycling more; and maybe we can start cleaning up water areas and the areas we live in. If we don't stop this pollution ordeal soon, many animals, plants, and possibly even people may die from this problem.
<----Tell your family, your friends, and/or talk about this 'Pollution Issue' with teachers at your school....I'm sure any of these people would be glad to help you out with any of your concerns, especially if you are concerned about this particular problem.

to stop pollution...Get Involved! ^
<----Recycle as much 'waste' as you can. Or don't buy stuff which becomes waste (like packaging from carryout food). You can use real plates made of china and forks made of steel, thousands of times. Plastic plates and cutlery last once, and then become waste.

^ If you want to go somewhere, there is always the option
of either riding a bike or walking instead of using a vehicle because
vehicles pollute the air.^
