The Commons offers students employment opportunities through five different locations: commonvision, Campus Information Center, Gameroom, Flat Tuesdays, and Operations. All student employees are required to have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and majority of positions require at least ten hours of work time per week.

Campus Information Center:
-Answering customers' questions to the best of their knowledge
-Serving as Campus Operator
-Renting out of laptops to the UMBC community
-Administering the Campus Lost and Found
-Selling tickets for campus events

Gameroom:
-Coordinate sales for pool, table tennis, and air hockey
-Facilitate recreation scheduled events
-Sell and restock Gameroom soda and snack items
-Provide maintenance to Gameroom equipment
-Attend regular staff meetings

Flat Tuesdays: (Must be at least 21 years of age)
-Acting as door security at each exit (checking IDs for proper age)
-Serving beverages and snacks
-Register sales
-Set up and clean up of area
-Preparing alcohol awareness programming
-Hours consist of evening and late night shifts
-Must be "TIPS" trained

Operations:
-Set up and breakdown of events at the UC and The Commons
-Light lifting involved
-Set up of A/V equipment, no experience required, will train
-Responsible for the general upkeep of The Commons
-Teamwork and communication skills are essential
-Accommodates any type of class schedule
