Creating High Performance Project Teams
One of the major challenges facing organizations today is restructuring the workforce into project teams. Many organizations have undergone periods of downsizing, have thinned out middle management positions and have employees who are more geographically dispersed and segregated into many areas of specialization. The traditional project team who works on a project from beginning to end under tight control of a project manager is a relic of the past.
Today’s project teams require employees who are empowered to operate freely, think and respond creatively, and contribute in their own way. Through lecture, discussion, learning instruments and extensive role-playing exercises, participants will be introduced to the differences between a traditional project team and a contemporary team arrangement. They will also gain experience in forming and directing team efforts and learn skills to make the team effective.
