Overview

This course is designed to address the kinds of writing skills that technical professionals such as Engineers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts need for the workplace. We will emphasize communication skills including:

• Planning information
• Developing reader-based prose
• Improving personal writing performance
• Guiding the writing of  subordinates
• Mastering such writing tasks as strategic plans and performance appraisals 
  

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Distinguish the characteristics of effective business writing 
  
• Write and revise drafts 
  
• Plan and organize information 
  
• Construct an effective argument 
  
• Describe the effect of corporate culture on communications 
  
• Identify ethical and legal concerns in communications 
  
• Specify issues and guidelines related to gender communication 
  
• Develop effective performance appraisals 
  
• Apply Information engineering

Engineers, Project Managers, Technical Leads and other professionals working within a technical position and environment.
