An introduction to Apache Accumulo and Big Data: overview, value proposition, and opportunities.

Overview

Students will gain an understanding of Big Data and Apache Accumulo. They will learn about the history, current technologies and companies driving the Big Data ecosystem, as well as current limitations and future trends. Students will explore the challenges and differences in developing data solutions from traditional business intelligence. The course will also provide an extensive nontechnical overview to the MapReduce paradigm. After completing this course, students will be able to work cooperatively and lead development teams to build a wide variety of analytical applications, taking advantage of Accumulo’s strengths, and their enterprises data.

Audience

This course is designed to provide an introduction to Big Data and Apache Accumulo for organizational leaders. Students should be involved with designing, developing, and deriving meaning from Big Data and advanced analytic platforms.
