Course Description | Outline | IT HomeOverviewThe widely respected Cisco Career Certifications bring valuable, measurable rewards to network professionals, their managers, and the organizations that employ them. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) is one of the most valued certifications in the IT industry. Anyone seeking to pursue or advance their career as a network technician, network administrator, or information security specialist will benefit from the range of theoretical and practical skills covered by the CCNA certification course of study. CCNA validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. CCNA also covers basic mitigation of security threats and an introduction to wireless networking. CCNA certification is a prerequisite for Cisco's more advanced certifications such the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification. UMBC Training Center's CCNA class uses real Cisco equipment in our labs, to complement the simulators. There is no substitute for hands-on experience with real Cisco hardware. CertificationYou can obtain your CCNA certification by taking one of two paths:
