The Certificate in Cyber Development is a full time, intensive training program designed to prepare students for immediate employment as computer programmers / software engineers within government and industry. There is a severe shortage of computer programmers with the skills, certifications, and problem solving abilities necessary to meet the nation's Cyber Defense challenge. And this shortage is expected to persist for years. This represents a tremendous career opportunity for motivated individuals with the right skills and qualifications. The Certificate in Cyber Development develops civilians and military personnel with a proven competence with computers and technology up to the level of an entry-level professional computer scientist, programmer, or software developer. Program DetailsThe program involves 11 weeks of full time study with intensive hand-on programming exercises throughout the entire curriculum. Individual courses within the program include:
AudienceThis program is suitable for individuals seeking a career as a professional computer programmer in the field of Cybersecurity, or any field where system level programming is utilized. This program prepares students for employment with government agencies, government contractors and commercial enterprises. PrerequisitesStudents taking this program should have strong skills in computers and networking. Students should have a good working knowledge of both the Windows and Linux operating systems, and be comfortable working at the command line of either operating system. Some prior programming experience is recommended. Program LogisticsThe Certificate in Cyber Development is an 11 week, full time program. Classes are held every weekday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Classes are held at 6996 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046.
