Overview

This course provides hands-on training on the design, development and publication of applications for Apple’s iOS 4 platform including the iPhone, iPod touch & iPad. Students will learn to utilize the iOS SDK, Objective-C and the various frameworks & toolkits to build iOS applications under Mac OSX.

At the conclusion of this course students will:

• Gain an understanding of the Objective-C language
• Become familiar with the iOS SDK
• Understand and apply design patterns in order to build iOS applications
• Understand and leverage emerging hardware in today’s mobile devices
• Understand and demonstrate knowledge about the complexities and challenges of developing for a mobile platform

Software developers looking to develop iOS business applications.

Prerequisites

Prior programming experience in an object-oriented language such as C++, C#, Java, Ruby, Python, etc. Time will be dedicated to understanding the object system in Objective-C, however a fundamental understanding of OOP principles is expected.
