Overview

This class comprehensively covers the fundamental tools and concepts of Linux, including the usage, configuration, maintenance and administration of Enterpise Linux systems. This is a hands-on, lab-intensive course. The objective is to prepare students to be proficient handling the tasks commonly faced by professional Linux System Administators. Upon completion of the course, students will be very well prepared to take the leading industry Linux certification exams.

Target Student

This course is the recommended starting point for students with good computer skills, but with little or no Linux experience, who are interested in a career as a Linux System Administrator. Competent, certified Linux System Administrators are in high demand in both Corporate and Government IT Departments.

Prerequisites

Participants should have experience performing basic computer management tasks on a modern operating system such as Windows 7 or Mac OS X. Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts is strongly recommended.
