Overview

This online class comprehensively covers the fundamental tools and concepts of Linux, including the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of Linux systems. This is a hands-on, lab-intensive course. The objective is to prepare students to be proficient handling the tasks commonly faced by professional Linux System Administators. This course also helps prepare students for the following valuable industry certifications: CompTIA Linux+ and Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).

Target Student

This course is the recommended starting point for students with good computer skills, but with little or no Linux experience, who are interested in a career as a Linux System Administrator. Competent, certified Linux System Administrators are in high demand in both Corporate and Government IT Departments.

Prerequisites

Participants should have experience performing basic computer management tasks and be comfortable working at the command line on a modern operating system such as Windows 7 or Mac OS X. Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts is strongly recommended.
