MCITP: Server Administrator

Overview

The MCITP: Server Administrator Certification validates your ability to handle day-to-day management of the server operating system, file structure, and directory services; handle software distribution and updates; monitor servers; provide tier-2 troubleshooting support; support engineering and change-management projects; build and configure servers; implement auditing policy; perform scheduled vulnerability-assessment scans; and monitor logs for firewalls and intrusion-detection systems.

Certification Requirements

To acquire your MCITP: Server Administrator Certification, you must pass three exams. UMBC Training Centers provides courses that cover these three exams:

  • Exam 70-640: TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
  • Exam 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
  • Exam 70-646: PRO: Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator

Also, on your way to receiving your MCITP: Server Administrator Certification, you will receive your Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) Certification, upon completion of the first of these exams. The MCTS Certification validates your skills on the features and functionality of key technologies, and shows your depth of knowledge in one specific technology. The MCTS Certifications provide a foundation for earning your MCITP: Server Administrator Certification.

For the MCITP: Server Administrator Certification, UMBC Training Centers uses the Microsoft Official Academic Course (MOAC) Curriculum published by © John Wiley & Sons. UMBC Training Centers offers three courses that prepare you to take these three exams which, once passed, will earn you your MCITP: Server Administrator Certification:

  • 70-640: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration
  • 70-642: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration
  • 70-646: Windows Server 2008 Administrator
