Self Paced Online Training

UMBC Training Centers develops interactive self-paced training to provide students with the ultimate in convenience without sacrificing academic quality. Courses generally follow our classroom-based offerings and include hands on exercises to ensure students learn by doing. Many courses include access to an instructor to review student progress, help with areas of difficulty, and address student questions.

Blended Online Training

UMBC Training Centers’ Blended Online Training programs combine Live Online and Online Self-Paced sessions. This format is designed to prepare professional exam candidates by incorporating live instruction, hands-on exercises and guidance while developing a tailored study plan.

Live Online Training

UMBC Training Centers offers most of our courses as live online training to provide our students with high quality, effective instructor-led training in the most convenient format possible.

UMBC Training Centers’ live online training allows students to participate in a structured, instructor-led course from any location with Internet access. Students will have direct interaction with their instructor and fellow students throughout the course and will have access to a virtual technical environment with all of the required technologies, applications, tools and exercises for their course preloaded and preconfigured.

Our virtual classroom environment is comprised of three components:

• Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) – serves as the central repository for all course materials, assignments, assessments and discussion threads.  All live lectures are recorded and stored in the LMS for future viewing.
• Adobe Connect – provides interactive live lecture capabilities. 
• Virtual Hands on Labs – for courses that include hands on exercises, virtual machines will be setup for each student, providing them with a way to reinforce their learning through practical application in class as well as after hours.  Virtual labs are available to students to practice 24/7.

Student materials will be shipped to each student prior to their course start date. It is recommended that each student have a headset with microphone to facilitate classroom discussion All course times listed are Eastern Standard Time. Please be sure to check the system requirements.
