Live Online Training

UMBC Training Centers offers most of our courses as live online training to provide our students with high quality, effective instructor-led training in the most convenient format possible.

UMBC Training Centers’ live online training allows students to participate in a structured, instructor-led course from any location with Internet access. Students will have direct interaction with their instructor and fellow students throughout the course and will have access to a virtual technical environment with all of the required technologies, applications, tools and exercises for their course preloaded and preconfigured.

Our virtual classroom environment is comprised of three components:

• Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) – serves as the central repository for all course materials, assignments, assessments and discussion threads.  All live lectures are recorded and stored in the LMS for future viewing.
• Adobe Connect – provides interactive live lecture capabilities.  Each student will be shipped a headset and microphone to facilitate classroom discussion.
• Virtual Hands on Labs – for courses that include hands on exercises, virtual machines will be setup for each student, providing them with a way to reinforce their learning through practical application in class as well as after hours.  Virtual labs are available to students to practice 24/7.

Student materials and a headset will be shipped to each student prior to their course start date. All course times listed are Eastern Standard Time. Please be sure to check the system requirements.
