Information Technology
UMBC is nationally recognized for its excellence in research and education in the field of information technology. UMBC Training Centers extends this excellence to the working professional through a variety of IT training programs geared to developing new skills and knowledge in areas such as software development, technical support, networking, systems integration, information security/assurance and IT project management.
Biotechnology
UMBC is the only academic institution in Maryland,
and one of a few in the world, to offer comprehensive training programs in
the area of regulatory affairs for biotechnology. UMBC Training Centers offers
this 4-course sequence to non-credit students, providing participants with
an in-depth exposure to key areas associated with bringing a biological product
to the market under FDA approval.
Engineering
Our engineering courses are designed to prepare the practicing Civil, Electrical or Mechanical engineer for
both the FE/EIT (Fundamentals of Engineering/Engineers-In-Training) and the PE
(Principles and Practices of Engineering) exams. Review courses for the EIT and PE disciplines are intensive, with an emphasis on problem-solving and testing strategies.
Professional Development and Business
UMBC Training Centers offers a variety of professional development and
business programs in areas such as Management and Leadership, Human Resources
Management, Financial Planning, Customer Service, and Project Management.
These programs utilize industry leading courseware from providers such as
the American Management Association, the Society for Human Resources Management,
and the Project Management Institute. Many of these courses prepare students
for achieving industry accreditation or certification.
Diagnostic Medical Sonography
The UMBC Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is a 58 week, forty hour
per week training program. Diagnostic sonography (ultrasound technology)
uses non-ionizing, high frequency sound waves to produce images of organs,
tissues, and blood vessels. The training program includes both academic
and clinical coursework.
Higher Education Test Preparation
These high quality, affordable training offerings prepare students for the
GRE, GMAT, or LSAT examinations.
Online Courses
UMBC Training Centers, along with our partners, provides quality
online training courses designed for the busy professional. These course
are ideal for students that cannot take the time out of their schedules
to attend classroom training sessions.
