Howard County General Hospital has immediate openings for two full-time Ultrasound Technologists—one for evening shift and one for night shift. Some vascular experience is strongly preferred. Ultrasound examinations performed include general, obstetrical, gynecological and vascular. Vascular examinations include carotid studies, upper and lower extremities venous studies, upper and lower arterial studies, and other vascular studies (such as vein mapping, AV fistula, and bypass graft). State-of-the-art equipment including GE Logic E9. PRN position also available.
Position requirements are: Graduate of an accredited Medical Sonography Program. One (1) year of ultrasound technologist experience preferred. Vascular experience also preferred. Current Registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and at least one ARDMS clinical certification in abdomen or OB/GYN. If hired without ARDMS credentials, must pass the registry exam by the ARDMS, plus one clinical certification, within the first year of employment. CPR. Current credentials as a Registered Vascular Technologist is preferred.

The Ultrasound Department at The University of Maryland Medical Center is currently seeking an Ultrasonographer with experience in breast imagine. Other exams performed include Abdomen, Transplant, Small Parts, OB/GYN, Neurosonography, and Vascular peripheral and abdominal . Doppler experience is preferred. Must be RDMS in Abdomen and Ob/Gyn. Vascular and Breast imaging experience is a plus.
The department has state of the art equipment Siemens and a dedicated PACS system and is ACR and AIUM accredited.
Requirements:
1. Graduation from an AMA and/or CAAHP approved school of Ultrasound Technology.
2. CPR certification is required.
3. A minimum of one year of experience performing diagnostic ultrasound studies is preferred.
4. Knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including differentiation of cross-sectional anatomy and setting-up and maintaining a sterile field is required. Knowledge of ultrasound techniques and practices is required.
5. Ability to operate routine ultrasound equipment is required. Knowledge of PACS system preferred.
6. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit/area/department policies and procedures.
7. Knowledge of computer system in order to learn Radiology Information System to manage patient information.
This position requires weekend on-call rotations shared with at least 5 other sonographers.
