Yes, the program has been accredited by CAAHEP and the JRC-DMS since 1986. In September of 2007, the program was awarded re-accreditation for all three specialties for a period of five years. All graduates of the UMBC Sonography program are considered registry eligible upon graduation from the program.

Yes, the UMBC Sonography program requires all students wear a uniform that identifies them as UMBC students while at clinical site rotations. The student must appear neat and professional at all times.
Expect class and clinical hours to begin at 8 am (unless otherwise stated.) The day concludes at 4:30 - 5 pm. Students are required to attend all classes/clinical during these hours Monday-Friday.
