The Breezeway

Outdoor event space between Math/Psych and The Commons buildings.

The Terrace

The grass steps outside The Commons offers lots of patio and lawn seating for when you just need a break from being in class all day.

The Quad

Large outdoor event space. A popular venue for Commencement, Quadmania, and other large-scale events.

1st Floor

Main Street Lounge

A place to relax that houses Off-Campus Student services.

Lower Flat Tuesdays

In addition to the pub in Upper Flat Tuesdays, Lower Flat has a stage for performances, seating area, and tables.

Main Street

Follow Market Street towards the Bookstore, and you’ll see the biggest event space inside The Commons: Main Street.

Social Justice Lounge

Another lounge area that is also used for various programs during the semester, dedicated to leaders of Social Justice.

Mezzanine & 2nd Floor

The Gameroom

An area to play video games, billiards, ping pong, and even watch movies in on a large projector screen. Oh, and free popcorn. Yep.

The Sports Zone

Dedicated to UMBC sports, The Sports Zone has a stage, a large projector screen, and lots of places to sit and eat.

The Student Org Space

A gathering space open to all student orgs. It also houses the Student Government Association, Student Events Board, and Greek Life offices.

3rd Floor

Conference Rooms

The third floor of the Commons houses many conference rooms for use by student organizations and departments.

The Fireside Lounge

A quiet space next to the Skylight Room to relax, or to have a more formal gathering.

The Women’s Center

The Women's Center assists all women in achieving their full potential in education, career and personal life through academic and intellectual growth, professional development and personal empowerment.

1st Floor & Lobby

The Bookstore

Located on Main Street, The Bookstore stocks all required and recommended books, supplies, computers, computer software, and much more.

The Campus Information Center (CIC)

The CIC provides general information and services to students, staff, and faculty. Services include event ticket sales, the lost & found, and basic printing.

Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS)

OCSS offers ongoing services, programs, academic and social support, and educational opportunities to help off-campus students successfully navigate UMBC and life after college.

PNC Bank

Located next to the Bookstore, PNC bank offer bank accounts, ATM withdrawals, and more.

The Mosaic Center

A center for diversity education and collaboration on UMBC's campus.

The Student Events Board (seb)

Located in the Student Org space, (seb) plans tons of campus events, including live music, movie nights, trips, and more, because hey, we all need a break from studying sooner or later, right? (seb) is comprised of students just like you.

Student Government Association (SGA)

Serving as one of the governing bodies at UMBC, the SGA meets with key administrators and approves campus-wide policies in support of an active, academically enriched, social student environment. The SGA is also located in the Student Org Space.

UMBC Greek

The UMBC Greek Community promotes excellence by exemplifying respect and a spirit of unity amongst its members, while embracing the diversity of our campus. The UMBC Greek office is also located in the Student Org Space.

3rd Floor

commonvision

commonvision is UMBC’s Design & Print Center. Staffed and funded by students, commonvision prints papers, posters, stickers, buttons, and much more. Marketing packages and design services are also offered to student organizations and departments.

The Commons Business Services

The Commons Business Services handles accounts and transactions for events by student organizations and departments.

The Commons Payroll

The Commons Payroll handles payment of student and full-time staff in The Commons.

The Division of Student Affairs

The Division of Student Affairs facilitates learning and prepares students for success in our multi-cultural and increasingly global society and work force.

Event Planning

Event Planning is a comprehensive stop for all event planning needs.

Graduate Student Association (GSA)

The GSA supports and represents all graduate students at UMBC.
