AGNG
310 - Introduction to the Management of Aging Services (New) REVISED
- The UGC discussed AGNG 310 but tabled it pending the following questions
being answered: Can you explain why that is what you want? What will the
instructor be looking for? Might it be possible to put what the instructor
is looking for in the prerequisites, so students know?
AGNG
311- Intermediate Management of Aging Services (New)
REVISED - The UGC discussed AGNG 311 but tabled it
pending the following question being answered: Why is permission
required if 310 is the prerequisite?
AGNG
321 - Strength-Based Approaches to Achieving Mental Wellness
in the Older Adult (New) REVISED - The UGC tabled
ANGN321 because the UGC was confused about the department's
rationale. The rationale says that junior transfers could
take this course; however the prereq, AGNG 320 itself has
prereqs of AGNG 100 and AGNG 200. AGNG is a unique program,
so how would entering junior transfers be able to take this
course? Moreover, "permission of the instructor"
is always implied, so need not be added. Lastly, the UGC
would like to see the catalog description be more descriptive
of the particular things students will learn in the course
- at present, the description has a decided "marketing"
ring to it and is short on specifics.
Entrepreneurship
and Innovation Minor - (Proposed
Minor) - Drs. Lindenmeyer and LaCourse
attended the UGC meeting and discussed
the minor. The UGC voiced it's concern
regarding that the minor is not
in a academic department but it
was explained by Dr. Lindenmeyer
and Dr. LaCourse how the minor would
be managed. The minor will remain
tabled and the UGC will continue
to discuss the minor and invite
Dr. Lindemeyer and Dr. LaCourse
back for more discussions. (Letter
