1. Minutes for 4/9/09 were approved.
2. ROTC - LTC Steve
Pomper
LTC Steve Pomper attended
the UGC meeting and discussed the possibility of allowing some courses to
transfer to UMBC. The courses be considered in September.

- IS
413 GUI Systems Using Java (Change: Title, Prerequsite & Description)
- The UGC table IS 413 and requested that the department submit a syllabus.
- DANC
325/crosslisted with VPA 325 (New Course) - The UGC tabled DANC 325
and requested that the department submit a syllabus.
- VPA
325 Contemporary Art in Process (Change: Title & Prerequiste)Support

320 Advanced Business Applications (New) Sample
Syllabi - The UGC is requesting a course outline that list assignments
and readings. The one submitted only lists things like "casestudy"
which does not help the committee understand what it is the students will
be doing.
- CMPE
471 Engineering Mathematics and Computation (New) - The UGC is requesting
a course outline that contains information on assessment of student learning,
as well as a more complete list of readings and assignments. The UGC is
also tabling the course because the Math Department is interested in discussing
this course further.
- MCS
100L Multimedia Literacy Lab (New) - The UGC tabled MCS 100L pending
a number of questions:
1. Why should the course be repeatable? 2. The UGC was unclear how many
hours the students would spend in the lab. 3. The UGC is also requesting,
as our new guidelines on our website indicate, a more complete list of assignments
with readings.

369 Topics in Photography (Change: Prerequisite & Max Credits)
- The UGC is requesting that the department resubmit the form because
it is unclear what the is being requested.
5. Program Review
The UGC discussed the
program review for the Department of
Political Science and approved the program review with minor changes.
