ART
331 - Graphic Design I: Image, Sign and Symbol (Change: Prerequisite
& Description) - The UGC approved ART 331 and ART 332 but wanted to
suggest that the department amend the catalog description to read that
for ART 331 it recommend ART 332 as a CO-requirement, and for ART 332
that it recommend ART 331. As it reads now, the language is confusing.

GES
488 - Spatial Data Analysis and GIS Applications
(New) - The UGC tabled GES 488 for the following
reasons: 1. the course is repeatable, but not
for how many credits. 2. the UGC needs to see
a listing of specific reading assignments on the
syllabus, not merely a listing of topics. 3. Moreover,
the committee wondered why the textbook is optional.
The department was made aware that if they wish
to teach this course this coming spring, they
should obtain emergency approval from Toni Moreira.
The UGC will take up this course at its next meeting,
in early February, provided we have received answers
to our questions.

Entrepreneurship
and Innovation Minor - (Proposed
Minor) - Drs. Lindenmeyer and LaCourse
attended the UGC meeting and discussed
the minor. The UGC voiced it's concern
regarding that the minor is not in
a academic department but it was explained
by Dr. Lindenmeyer and Dr. LaCourse
how the minor would be managed. The
minor will remain tabled and the UGC
will continue to discuss the minor
and invite Dr. Lindemeyer and Dr.
LaCourse back for more discussions.
(Letter of Support from: Economics,
Information
Systems and History)
Meeting adjourned until February
10, 2011.
