University Health Services participates in many programs and events throughout the year. If you or your student group are interested in co-sponsoring an event or program, please contact the Office of Health Education at 410-455-1558 or at uhs@umbc.edu.
With permission from the Vice President of Student Affairs Office, University Health Services will be closed on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 for our annual required staff training, certifications, and retreat.
UMBC Faculty and Staff are invited to this one hour training session to learn about the Voices Against Violence (VAV) Program, as well as the updated reported guidelines for incidents of relationship violence, sexual assault, etc.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to clearly identify the University's protocol for responding to and reporting incidents of relationship violence, sexual assault, etc. on UMBC's campus; understand the steps a faculty or staff member must take when reporting such an incident; comprehend the importance of reporting this information, both for the victim/survivor, as well as the the University; clearly recognize the role and members of the Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Response Team; and be familiar with on and off campus resources for victims and survivors of violence.
