Health Education Programs
The mission of the UHS Office of Health Education is to provide accurate and inclusive education regarding healthy behaviors through diverse media.

Our vision is to create a culture in which all members of the UMBC community have the information and skills they need to make responsible, well-informed decisions regarding their health and well-being while at UMBC and throughout their lives. We are committed to ongoing assessment and evaluation in search of innovative methods to pursue our vision.

A variety of health promotion activities and health education programs are available to your and your organizations. Programs can be scheduled by calling the Health Education office at 410-455-1558.

The Peer Health Advocates Program trains UMBC students to educate and serve as Advocates for other UMBC students, staff and faculty. Advocates can earn 3 academic credits per semester in either Social Work (SOWK) or Psychology (PSYC) for their participation in the program. Students may earn a maximum of 12 credits through the Peer Health Advocacy Program. If you are interested in applying for the Peer Health Advocates Program, please  contact Alison Rohrbach at arohrbach@umbc.edu.
