At the heart of our clinical services are nationally certified NURSE PRACTITIONERS (NP).

Claire Teufel

MS, CRNP
Senior Nurse Practitioner
Claire is a nurse practitioner who has worked in college health for 25 years and at UMBC for the last 15 years. Her main responsibility is to care for any student who is sick, injured, or in any distress. She enjoys teaching students how to take good care of themselves.

Sandy Riggs

MS, CRNP
Sandy has been in nursing for over 25 years and has been a college health Nurse Practitioner since 1991. She has been at UMBC for 15 years. Her main responsibility at UHS is seeing the students for illnesses as well as other health care needs. Her special interests are women's health care and patient education.

Elizabeth Kolar

MS, CRNP.
Elizabeth is a Nurse Practitioner who has been working at UMBC for ten yrs. Her main responsibility at UHS is seeing sick students. Her goal is to promote and teach health and well-being.

Board certified PHYSICIANS from University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), provide primary care, consultation and emergency on-call services.

Dr. Verlyn Warrington

M.D., Medical Director
Dr. Verlyn Warrington has been the Medical Director at UMBC's University Health Services since 1998. She received her M.D. from University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1992. She completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center from 1992 to 1995. She has been employed at the Department of Family Medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine since 1995.

Dr. Vivian Rose

M.D.
Dr. Vivienne Rose has been practicing at UMBC's University Health Services since 1998. She got her M.D. from University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1992. She completed her residency at the Department of Family Medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center from 1992 to 1995. She has been employed at the Department of Family Medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine since 1995.

Calleen Boone

Clinical Coordinator
Calleen has been the Clinical Coordinator for University Health Services since 2008. Her responsibilities include overseeing all functions of the clinic and lab at UHS. She seeks to understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers. Her main objective is to assist and provide clinical services for patients and staff.

Alison Rohrbach

M.Ed
Assistant Director, Health Education
Alison has been working at UMBC since 2005. She manages and oversees all aspects of the Office of Health Education, including outreach events, programming efforts and marketing the services of UHS. She loves working with college students and has a passion for teaching them about their health and well-being.

Pritma "Mickey" Arora

B.S, CHES
Health Educator
Mickey has been at UMBC since 2008. She supervises the Peer Health Advocates program and also works on other aspects of the Office of Health Education, such as outreach, programming and marketing for those events and programs. Her main interests in health education include sexual and reproductive health and working with at-risk youth

Jennifer K. Lepus

UHS Director
Jennifer has been working in the field of health education in the public and private sector for over 20 years, and started at UMBC in 2002. She states, "My favorite part of my job, by far, is working with the students on campus. I want to ensure the students and their families that we're here to help them succeed with their goals, by providing excellent health and wellness care."

Willi Cotton

Insurance Program Supervisor
Willi started at UHS in January of 2004. She oversees all billing functions and handles the student insurance enrollment.



Annette Jackson

Insurance Specialist
Nettie has worked at UMBC since 2002. She is an Account Clerk II, working in the Billing Department and with insurances. Nettie will gladly help you with any questions regarding scheduling, services offered, insurance, billing and payments. Nettie is currently a UMBC student as well!

Cheryl Benitez

Insurance Billing/Front Desk
Cheryl has worked at UMBC since 2007. She works at the front desk and billing office in UHS. She can help you schedule appointments and answer questions you have about insurance or billing problems. Cheryl also assists with the health plan for Graduate Assistants and Undergraduate students.

Susan Hughes

Office Manager
Sue has been working at UMBC since 1988. She oversees the budget and payroll processes, supply ordering and medical records storage for University Health Services. She also supervises the medical records(check-in) area.

Dorothy Cooper

Procurement
Dot has worked at UMBC since 2001. She orders vaccines, medical supplies and other important products to keep UMBC students healthy. She also works in procurement, handles the payroll process and does new hire paperwork for UHS.

Kathy Barnett

Front Desk Supervisor
Kathy has worked at UHS since 1997. She is the front desk supervisor, helping students make appointments and maintaining medical records for patients. Kathy finds it rewarding to work with college students and watch them develop into confident adults.

Chris Ruane

Message Therapist
Christine Ruane is a licensed, Nationally and State Certified Massage Therapist, with over nine years experience in the field. She holds certifications in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Infant Massage Instruction, Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Massage Therapy.

Yu She

Yu She has been practicing Acupuncture part-time at University Health Services since September 2002. She received her Diplomate in Acupuncture in 2000. She also received her M.Ac. in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (now Tai Sophia Institute) in February 2000.

STUDENT WORKERS make a significant contribution to UHS. At the Front Desk, students schedule appointments, register patients and handle billing. In Health Education, they perform clerical functions as well as coordinate programs and events throughout campus. Student Clinical Assistants are trained to assist our health care providers with patients.

Shantanu Fauji

Shantanu has been working with UHS since Jan 2009. He helps the staff with the IT issues that come up.
