Aaaahhhh! The end is Nigh! It is time to prepare for Finals! Muster your friends for study groups to tackle this milestone. If you have a class that is difficult ask for help. If you have a class that is easy, offer your assistance. There is strength in numbers. Also, if you have issues with writing your paper, why not visit the Writing Center for assistance?

Heads up to all students! November the 12th is the last day to Change from Regular Grade to Pass/Fail or to Drop a Class with a "W". We hope you don't have to but if you must, you must. If you need assistance please talk to your instructor or go visit our friendly staff at the Learning Resources Center for tutoring advice.

We are already approaching the middle of the semester, but are you keeping up with all your reading and homework? Here are a few words of wisdom to help you:
- Read everyday rather than putting it off till an assignment is due or before your exam.
- Ask your professor to explain parts that you didn't understand.
- If you are having trouble in any of your classes, sign up for tutoring at the Learning Resources Center.

You probably know what to expect in your classes now. Some of them may be "easy As" and some you may be "not quite as easy". Well fear no more folks. The Learning Resources Center offers tutoring for certain classes. Apply for a tutor for a class and meet once a week. It can be the difference of a grade letter or more! On the other hand, if you think you did well in a class... why not help others by applying to become a tutor?

Next week we will have two special guests visiting our campus. Dr. Ruth Faden, Executive Director of The Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and Mr. David Lacks, son of Henrietta Lacks will be on campus for a conversation on our NSBE selection, "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks". The event will be held at the UC Ballroom on Tuesday, October 9, at 7:00pm.

It's that time of the year when the weather gets cooler, the days get shorter and the homework gets longer. This is a good time to take a good hard look at which classes need the most attention. Remember, the Learning Resource Center is a free resource that is readily available to you, so make the most of it and get the help you need to be successful this semester!
