- Confirm meeting schedule
- Nominations accepted via e-mail, verbal requests, paper nomination form, and online form
- New Book Selection Committee meets
- October
- Nominations close October 31
- Committee reviews nominations
- November
- Committee selects the top 10 to 15 books from among the nominations
- December
- Top nominations discussed individually
- Top three choices ranked; final selection is made in consultation with Dean Diane Lee and the President's Office
