WHAT IS CAMPUS CONNECT?
Campus Connect is a program to help UMBC students make the most of their college experience. As the name suggests, the program aims to “connect” freshman and sophomore students with faculty/staff and student mentor volunteers, whose purpose is to be a resource of information, guidance, advice and support.

IS CAMPUS CONNECT RIGHT FOR ME?
If you are a freshman or sophomore student at UMBC, getting in touch with a Campus Connect mentor could be the best decision you'll ever make. They are the core of the Campus Connect program, and they are there to be a resource for you. Whether it is giving advice on time management, finding you the right person to call in University Heath Services for your latest migraine or simply listening to your concerns, a Campus Connect mentor is there to get you on the right track - and keep you there.

CAMPUS CONNECT EVENTS
Each semester, Campus Connect will sponsor several events to recruit new mentors, and pair them with students who are looking for some extra help and guidance. Regular events being planned include a mid-semester Gala Kick-off, where students and mentors will get to know each other in an informal setting, and an end-of-the-year reception.

HOW DO I GET “CONNECTED”?
Each semester, the Campus Connect program sponsors a kick-off Gala. This is your chance to meet faculty/staff and student mentors one on one, and get to know other students like yourself. The event is always casual and there will be plenty of time for you to “connect” with students and mentors. Once you've attended your first event, you will be assigned to a mentor, who will be your personal contact for advice, questions and help for the rest of the semester. Keep in touch with them regularly and remember they are there to be a resource for you.
