Deadline for final report and UMBC Review submission

Final Project Guidelines.

  • Advisors/mentors must review URA final reports and give their approval (via a cover sheet) before submission.

UMBC Review guidelines:

Award recipient must conduct the proposed research during this time period and submit a written report or other summary of research at the conclusion of the research period. Project reports may be supplemented by videotapes, audiotapes, or other works deemed to be appropriate by the advisor(s).”

About Your URA Funds:

It is your responsibility to track the use of your URA funds. Your mentor should instruct you about the record keeping that is typically expected to grant funds in your field. You will NOT need to report to the URA office or to me about your expenditures. You DO need to be sure you and your mentor are clear about the uses of the funds, consistent with your proposal.

Those of you who received the funds check or direct deposit will also receive an IRS form 1099 from the State of Maryland next January. Talk with whoever helps you with taxes to determine what record keeping would be helpful in order to be able to show expenses to offset this “income.”
