This research grant will be assisting my funding as I study abroad in Athens, Greece. I will be attending the Hellenic Center for Mediterranean Studies through Arcadia University. During this time of study I will also be researching the controversial German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann. Schliemann advocated the historical reality of places mentioned in the works of Homer. Schliemann was an important excavator of Troy, along with the Mycenaean sites Mycenae and Tiryns. His successes lent material reflecting actual historical events. I would like to interview art historians in Greece about their views of Heinrich Schleimann. I will be documenting my experience with video and audio taken at some of the ancient sites. I will present my short documentary video upon returning to my Special Topics: Documentary class in the fall.
