Ms. Colleen M. Marquart joined UMBC in 2013 as the Coordinator for Academic Initiatives and Pre-Transfer STEM Advising in the Office of Undergraduate Education and the Office for Academic and Pre-Professional Advising. In this dual-role position, she assists in developing initiatives to help support the academic success of transfer students at UMBC.
Marquart holds a B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University and a M.Ed. in Counselor Education-Student Affairs from Clemson University. Prior to UMBC, she worked in areas of Residence Life, Orientation, Academic Coaching and Student Life. All areas included work with first year student experience, new practices integrating technology, student leadership, and success.
An active member in professional organizations, Marquart has presented at conferences for South Carolina College Personal Association, National Orientation Directors Association-Region VII and National Association Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). She has also been invited to write articles for Women in Student Affairs Knowledge Community of NASPA, The Student Affairs Feature, TechBytes EDU, and American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Standing Committee for Women.
