Teresa Viancour brings more than 20 years of experience in undergraduate education and academic research to this office. She has taught large core courses at all levels, as well as smaller senior and graduate courses in her areas of expertise, which are cellular neurophysiology and sensory biophysics.
As the associate vice provost for undergraduate education, she is responsible for issues related to academic standards, academic integrity, and undergraduate research and creative achievement. She also works closely with colleagues in the Office of Undergraduate Education on initiatives designed to increase undergraduate retention, and to enhance the use of writing as a tool for learning.
Teresa earned her bachelor and doctoral degrees from the University of California, San Diego, and completed postdoctoral research at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Rice University and the University of Texas.
