Financial Aid

Students at UMBC have access to two major types of financial aid: need-based aid and scholarships.

A variety of need-based financial aid programs are available. Aid is awarded in one of three categories: grants, loans and employment. To attempt to meet a student's financial need, the financial aid package prepared by UMBC's Office of Financial Aid may consist of one or more of these types of aid.
