Application Information for the Honors College

The UMBC Honors College is a special option for students seeking a community of like-minded people for whom the quest for knowledge is its own reward. Honors College students gain the enlightened perspective that comes with the exploration of challenging ideas from history, philosophy, art, science and technology. Because admission to the Honors College is selective (about 125 students are admitted each year), an outstanding high school record and test scores are the most important factors in freshman admission. Transfer students with strong academic records may also apply for admission. Particular attention is paid to the essays submitted with the Honors College Application

How To Apply

To apply for admission to the Honors College, complete the Honors College Application (viewable with Adobe Acrobat Reader) in addition to UMBC's Undergraduate Admissions Application and submit it to UMBC by Jan. 15. Students applying after the Jan. 15 deadline will be considered as space permits
