Administrative and Managerial Science

Program Facts

UMBC's administrative and managerial sciences program prepares students for careers in business and government. This certificate program is designed to supplement a liberal arts or science major. Students gain the combined benefits of their major program and a business program. Students may work toward certificates in finance, management science, M.B.A. preparatory studies, personnel and industrial psychology, public administration and policy, and pre-professional accounting studies.

Alumni of the program have great success in today's dynamic business world. They hold positions in banks, insurance companies, accounting firms, hospitals, health care firms, real estate development companies, utilities and other private sector firms. Students also pursue careers in federal, state and local government agencies. Recent graduates are currently employed by NASA, T. Rowe Price, Bank of America and PHH.

Alumni succeed in top graduate and professional school programs. Graduates have also obtained M.B.A.s and other graduate degrees from Columbia, Georgetown, Wharton, MIT, Stanford, Duke, University of Virginia and other top institutions.
