Synthesizing Aspirin and Analysis

The purpose of this experiment was to determine which commercial aspirin – Bayer or Safeway – contained the greatest concentration of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin).  First, pure aspirin was synthesized to use as a standard.  Calculations show that Safeway was more concentrated in aspirin and more cost effective than Bayer aspirin.
