An epic story about
Chinese immigrant mothers and their American-born daughters, The
Joy Luck Club has become an American classic, first through Amy
Tan's best-selling novel, then as a critically acclaimed movie by
Wayne Wang. Spanning three generations, The Joy Luck Club vividly
portrays both Chinese culture and the immigrant experience in
America. The evening also reflects upon the complexity of being a
woman...the relationships she experiences with others, with
society, her heritage, and ultimately with her own self.
