The Griot: Guardian of Old Words and Societal Knowledge

Featuring guest speaker and story teller: Janice Curtis Greene. Mrs. Greene has been telling stories and folktales for over 15 years. In addition to telling stories she also writes many of her tales and poems. She also teaches Sunday school, conducts storytelling and dance workshops, sings in a choir, and writes for the Catholic Review. She is currently a member of the Griots' Circle of Maryland, The National Association of Black Storytellers, the Black affairs Advisory Council for the Social Security Administration and is the resident Griot for the National Association of Black Media Workers. Stop by the Women's center and hear Mrs. Greene, an accomplished storyteller and a multitalented woman..
