Write Letters    Share Thoughts     Watch Videos

10am-3pm and 5pm-8pm in the Women's Center

International Women's Day will give people the opportunity to write letters, share thoughts, and watch the a video, Spouse Abuse: A Global Perspective. The Women's Center will provide information regarding various human rights violations reflecting inequities between men and women and offer sample letters for people to follow when writing. This will include alerts from Amnesty International. Not just international issues will be discussed, but US issues will be examined as well. 

This day will also inform people of the mistreatment of women in other countries. Some treatment that women still face today include, female genital mutilation (FGM) female infanticide, bride burning, female child prostitution, rape, torture, and sexual battering.
