THE WEBTIVIST GRRLS

Achaia Andoque Allison Sherman
I am a cybergeek.  It doesn't particularly mean that I am a complete computer genius.  It just means that I am one of that minority group of women who spend most of their time glued on the computer screen, venturing the cyberworld.  It would make me special, but I don't want to be if it means that the internet will be dominated by men and be configured for men.  The Internet calls for a female presence.  It really does.  Why else would they call it WWW?  Women Women Women.  That's what it means.  FTP?  Feminist Theories Please.  I could go on, but you get my drift. I am new to the web field. This is the first website I have created. This has been an enriching learning experience that will follow me throughout my entire college career. Even though I have learned a great deal, my frustrations definitely kicked in from time to time. I had to deal with Internet server connection complications and I experienced difficulties using an unfamiliar program. However, I managed to complete research and finish the website. In the process I gained knowledge on various aspects of women’s history, and information about women in the technological and web fields.
