Emergency campus text alerts

Sign up for UMBC’s emergency alert text-messaging service (E2Campus) to receive notifications of any campus related emergency such as potential safety hazards or campus closures due to weather.

Student ID

Obtain a campus card (student ID) at the Campus Card Center located on the 1st floor of the University Center. The UMBC Campus Card is an integral part of campus life. It establishes your identity at UMBC, provides access to various services such as the Library and RAC, and is used as a swipe card to open doors in some campus buildings. You can also deposit funds, buy services and merchandise on campus and at participating stores in the surrounding area communities.

Parking permits

A valid UMBC permit must be displayed on all vehicles parked in non-metered lots or on roadways from 7:00 am until 7:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and from 7:00 am until 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

  • Current UMBC students can display their 2017/2018 parking permit during winter session.
  • New and/or visiting students must order a winter session parking permit. The cost of the permit is included in your special sessions fee (no additional payment is necessary).

Winter session parking permits are available from December 1 through December 22. UMBC is closed December 23 – January 1, so no parking permits will be processed during this time.

How to order a parking permit
  • You must be enrolled in a winter session course before you can apply for a parking permit. Allow 1-2 business days after you register before you submit your parking permit application.
  • Register your vehicle online using Internet Explorer.
  • Apply for your parking permit. Permits can either be picked up in person or ordered online and mailed.
  • Order your parking permit several weeks in advance to ensure it is received before the start of classes.
