Winter Session 2010 Scholarships


  • Available to qualified UMBC students
  • Covers up to three credits of in-state graduate and/or graduate tuition - scholarship recipients are responsible for any fees associated with their winter course(s)
  • Scholarships are designed to help students with a strong academic record who are  close to completing their degree
      • Scholarships are competitively awarded - meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee receipt of a winter scholarship.  Three factors are considered:  Financial Need, Cumulative GPA, Proximity to Graduation
      • Scholarships are awarded for UMBC Winter Session 2010 courses only, and must be used at UMBC for that term.


      Minimum Qualifications:


  • UMBC Undergraduates – must have completed at least 90 undergraduate credits by the end of the Fall 2009 semester.

  • UMBC Graduate Students – must have completed at least 23 graduate credits by the end of the Fall 2009 semester.

 

  • Applicants must have a UMBC cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (as indicated on a UMBC transcript)

  • Applicants must have a 2009/2010 FAFSA form on file with the UMBC Office of Financial Aid by the scholarship application deadline date (5:00 p.m. on December 1, 2009)…or, provide written documentation in the space provided on the application form explaining why a 2009/2010 FAFSA  form is not on file.  (Before submitting your application, please verify that your FAFSA is on file at the UMBC Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships).

 


The deadline for submitting a Winter Session 2010 Scholarship Application is 5:00 pm on December 1, 2009


The scholarship selection committee meets in early December to determine the scholarship recipients.  The committee’s decisions will be sent to all applicants via email.
