Visiting students are students who wish to enroll at UMBC for only one term, such as summer or winter session. For example, visiting students typically attend another college or university and want to earn specific course credits at UMBC that will transfer back to their home institution.
During winter session, you can earn up to 4.5 credits. To register for more than 4.5 credits, approval is needed.
Visiting students are not required to submit transcripts to UMBC for one term admission, but must be in good standing at their home institution.
NOTE: While transcripts are not required for visiting student admission, some instructors may request an unofficial transcript if the course has pre- or co-requisite requirements.
Visiting students must complete an application for admission for winter session.
Inter-Institutional Enrollment applies to fall and spring semesters only. Students from other USM schools who wish to enroll in summer or winter sessions must apply to UMBC for admission.
