Visiting Students

While home this winter, take a course and earn transferrable credits. During winter session, you can earn up to 4.5 credits.

 

Admissions

Undergraduate and Graduate visiting students from other colleges or universities must be admitted to winter session. Transcripts are not required. Academic Advising is highly recommended.

  • Visiting students must apply to UMBC before registering for winter courses
  • If you are in good standing at your home institution, transcripts are not required
  • Be sure to check with your home institution to verify the course(s) you want are transferable
  • Once you have been admitted to the session, you can register

 

Registration

Register for courses October 31 - January 2 by accessing the Online Schedule of Classes through       myUMBC.


NOTE: The registration system is designed to verify that prerequisites have been met before allowing students to register for certain courses. Since this registration system does not have access to visiting students' transcripts, you may encounter a message saying you do not have the appropriate prerequisites to register for a course. If this happens to you, please contact winter@umbc.edu for assistance.
