Career Week-- Next Week

Mon, 3/3/2008, 9:00 am to Fri, 3/7/2008, 6:00 pm

What's in a major? Is that a question that weighs on your mind and are you wondering how to maneuver through major choices to a satisfying and fulfilling career? If so, you're in luck! Check out this week full of career panels and networking events -- and realize that a choice of major can take you many different directions in a variety of industries. Hear UMBC alumni talk about their stories of personal success and the not so linear career paths that they have taken.

Learn and understand how your major can apply to any industry!

Chu Chang, a UMBC alum, who works at CareerBuilder.com will kick off the week with a look at the current job market and what to expect your first year out of college. Lorne Epstein, the author of “ You're Hired! Interview Skills to Get the Job” will end the week. His passionate approach to interviewing is grounded in over 11 years of professional recruiting -- you've got to hear this! Top off each day by attending industry specific career fairs of interest to you. And don't miss the business & dining etiquette seminar on Tuesday evening to learn the in's and out's of this important networking skill.
