Under the supervision of the Instructional Systems Designer, develop, implement, and evaluate learning modules in support of Magellan’s business objectives. Learning technologies include: instructor facilitated, self-study, web-based and blended approaches. Of particular strategic focus will be online technologies. Subject areas include, but are not limited to: call center operations, clinical policies/procedures and clinical information systems. Acts as technical expert and liaison with IT Department for web-based initiatives within the Company.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Content Development and Delivery
• Design, develop, and implement effective learning modules in support of Magellan’s business objectives. Learning technologies include instructor facilitated, self-study, web based and blended approaches.
• Deliver webinars and classroom sessions of specific products and services determined for delivery
• Establish and implement appropriate (level 1 – 4) evaluation strategies for all learning modules. Analyze evaluation results and incorporate into best practices, future program design and/or modification of existing content/delivery method.
• Research and identify appropriate resources and use tools to support content development and deployment.
Project Management
• In collaboration with L&P colleagues, partner with internal customers to clarify business objectives, identify performance gaps and appropriate solutions, and work to implement performance improvement measures, including, but not limited to, training solutions.
• Work on learning projects includes meeting all deliverable deadlines within quality expectations, communicating with stakeholders, and evaluating project success.
Learning Team Support
• Support and guide team members toward the implementation of new technology tools.
• Demonstrate application of Instructional Design concepts and best practices and distance learning methodologies.
• Document internal standards and user instructions for learning technologies.
• Evaluate Magellan learning content based on standard ISD practices and make recommendations for improvement.
• Serve as technical expert and liaison with IT department and troubleshoot learning technology design and functionality.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: BA/BS
Field(s) of study: Instructional Design or Education with certificate or advanced classes/professional certifications.
Experience: 1-3yrs.
Industry: Training and development/work place learning.
Job Specific: One to three years of instructional design, development and delivery experience.
• Experience using instructional system methodologies to author interactive multimedia courses.
• Experience as an instructor and course developer.
• Experience creating innovative, creative content, including job aids, online courses, and instructor materials.
• Experience working on project teams, working with customers, and meeting aggressive deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design theory and models, learning styles, and knowledge management practices.
• Facilitation and training delivery skills.
Other:
• Ability to function independently as well as a team member.
• Excellent writing, speaking and listening skills
• Excellent project management skills; demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize project tasks and objectives, gain team agreement, and effectively communicate with project stakeholders.
Computer Skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of multimedia authoring and graphic creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks), Captivate, and Microsoft Front Page.
• Ability to edit HTML code created by web development tools.
• Experience with remote training using a synchronous meeting tool such as NetMeeting, Webex, or LiveMeeting.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Experience in managed care/healthcare field. Experience in designing, developing and delivering training programs.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Utilization Management, Care Management, and Employee Assistance programs. Understanding of managed care operations and policies.
