The Office of Student Life, commonvision print and copy center, and the Office of Institutional Advancement are seeking qualified undergraduate students to serve as marketing interns. We need graphic designers, candidates with video and animation skills, and candidates with general marketing knowledge. A variety of skills are needed for the 4 positions we have open. As a member of the marketing team you will create marketing strategies and marketing pieces (posters and flyers) for the student audience as a way to be sure students know what is going on around campus. Expect to work about 12-15 hours per week and you can participate for academic credit or for pay. Email hawthor@umbc.edu for an application.

General Description: The Office Assistant will be responsible for performing clerical office work as well as other duties that will assist staff in the operation of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Requirements: Assistant must posses’ excellent verbal and written English skills, must be able to speak clearly on the phone and take accurate messages. Employee should have knowledge of Microsoft Word. Dependability, punctuality, and ability to use discretion with sensitive and confidential materials are a must.
Characteristics/Responsibilities:
• Assist with clerical responsibilities such as
answering telephone calls, photocopying, faxing,
typing, and filing.
• Cover the front desk and greet visitors as they
enter the office.
• Provide good customer service and information to
individuals coming into the office with questions.
• Use computer and Microsoft Office programs to
assist with various projects.
• Distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing
mail.
• Deliver on-campus items to various departments.
• Assist with compiling and researching information
on ideas, products and projects to improve the
condition, appearance, and services of the Office
of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
• Keeping the office area neat and clean.
• Other duties assigned.
